Origin of the Garden Hose
A garden hose or a hosepipe is a kind of hose which is used for watering plants in the garden. There are a number of common attachments available for the end of the hose, such as sprayers and sprinklers. Most commonly hoses are attached to what's called a hose spigot.
Interestingly enough, garden hoses usually come in the color green. The reason for this is unknown, although most people would think the reason is because plants are green, grass is green, etc. Sometimes hoses or hosepipes are used as musical instruments. In fact, some composers(albeit eccentric composers) have been known to write pieces especially for the garden hose or hosepipe. The word of hosepipe is primarily used in the United Kingdom. The American term for hosepipe is generally did good old garden hose.
