Flat Garden Hose Tips
Recently a variety of ads have shown up for what they are calling the new flat garden hose.
They are supposed to not tangle be free of knots and best of all their flat for easy storage.
Is the flat garden hose all it's cracked up to be?
Sure, the ads make them look great, but do they really work?
Instead of rubber or vinyl, like a traditional garden hose, the flat garden hose is made of woven fibers. Before you run out and buy a flat garden hose, consider a few points.
Chances are if you buy a flat garden hose from a television ad, you'll get a 25 foot hose - not the 50 foot hose that is standard for a traditional garden hose.
Another point to consider is the fact that you need to empty all the water out of the hose before storing. The hose will not roll out properly and lest you completely empty, the water from the hose. This can be a real pain in the neck to say the least.
Another common complaint of the flat garden hose, is that it does not withstand usage like a traditional garden hose. If you do go with the flat hose take good care of it but plan on it not lasting as long as a good solid five or six ply garden hose.
